Classes: Timeline for Success

Successful class engagement is a result of active class leaders. How can you be active? Figuring out what you need to do and when you need to do it is the first step. The following is a suggested timeline for your tenure as a class leader:

July/August

  • Send class notes to BAM
  • Conference call/meeting with fellow class officers. Discuss and plan communications and events for upcoming year
  • Update your class Web site with a new message from class leaders, add class news, photos and list any class and University events
  • Review class budget and decide if dues need to be collected
  • Determine annual class dues amount, if needed
  • Organize committees to host an event or attend University events in areas of high class concentration

 

September

October

November

  • Send class notes to BAM
  • Conference call/meeting with all of the officers
  • Update your class Web site with a new message from class leaders, add class news, photos and list any class and University events
  • Send BRAVO blast to classmates (include class and university events, web site and highlight a few classmates that are doing interesting/fun things with their lives)
  • Reunion year: select nominating committee

December

  • Send the University a list of people who attended your fall class events

January

February

  • Conference call/meeting with all of the class officers
  • Send BRAVO blast to classmates (include class and university events, web site, and if your class had an event report about it)
  • Mail newsletter (if not done earlier in year)

March

April

  • Reunion year: mail election ballot
  • Help organize committees to organize an event or attend a University event in areas of high class concentration
  • Send BRAVO blast to classmates (include class and university events, web site and if in a reunion year promote the class election and reunion weekend)

May

June

  • Send the University a list of people who attended your winter/spring events.
  • Update Web site with a new message from class leaders, add class news, photos and highlight events and/or Reunion Weekend, etc.
  • Send BRAVO blast to classmates (include class and university events, web site, etc. If in a reunion year, give reunion report, list all the new class leaders and thank the outgoing leaders
