An effective class organization needs a healthy treasury. Below are guidelines to help your class stay in the black.
Why have a treasury?
- Help pay for or subsidize class events
- Subsidize Reunion Weekend expenses
- Send newsletters and communications for class events
Role of Class Treasurer
- Reports budget to other class officers three times a year
- Plans budget for upcoming year
- Ensures class doesn't go into deficit and has at least $10,000 in treasury for class engagement programming
- Ensures class charges appropriately for class events

When and how to ask for dues
- Mail a class News and Dues Request (See sample News & Dues Request)
- Classes may ask for dues during September, October and/or January
- Follow up with a class communication, which can include updates from classmates and a thank you for paying dues
