Regional Directors
The Regional Directors make up the highest level of local volunteer
leadership within the BASC program. There are 15 BASC Regions
around the world; each region is further split up into BASC Areas.
Regional Directors oversee the BASC operations within a specific
geographic region and provide guidance and leadership to the
Area Chairs in their region.
The Regional Directors have four major responsibilities:
- to recruit and motivate effective BASC leadership within their regions,
- to support Area Chairs
in the execution of their responsibilities,
- to guide BASC’s
overall direction by serving on the BASC Executive Committee,
and
- to act as a liaison between Area Chairs and the Executive
Committee.
Effective Regional Directors are in close and frequent
contact with their Area Chairs, are actively involved in the
workings of the BASC Executive Committee, and have great enthusiasm
for Brown!
Regional Directors are nominated by the outgoing Regional Director,
and are ultimately selected by the Worldwide Chair and staff
BASC Director. Regional Directors serve a three-year term on
the BASC Executive Committee.
