BASC Calendar

Attend local “Introduction to Brown” nights hosted by a visiting Admission Officer from Brown. Admission Officers will also be traveling to high schools in your area to talk with prospective applicants.
Contact your Area Chair to confirm interest in interviewing.
Check and update your contact information on Brown Alumni Online
and check preferences on your eBASC profile.
Early Decision interviews are assigned beginning in late October.

November 1: Early Decision application deadline for students.
DECEMBER 1: BASC Interviewer deadline for submitting Early Decision interview contact forms.
December 10-15: Early Decision applicants are notified by mail and online of Admission decisions.
December 13-18: BASC Area Chairs receive notification of Admission decisions on all Early Decision applicants in their geo area. Please call to follow up with your interviewees!
Regular Decision interviews begin.

January 1: Regular Decision application deadline for students.
Interviews continue for Regular Decision applicants.
FEBRUARY 15: BASC Interviewer deadline for submitting Regular Decision interview contact forms.

Talk with your Area Chair about planning a BASC Acceptance Party in mid-April.
April 1: Regular Decision applicants and deferred Early Decision applicants are notified by mail and online of Admission decisions.
April 4-9: BASC Area Chairs receive notification of Admission decisions on all applicants in their geo area. Please call to follow up with your interviewees!
Mid-April: A Day On College Hill program for accepted students and Third World Welcome for accepted students of color.
Attend BASC Acceptance party for admitted students in your area (if one was organized).

May 1: Date by which accepted students must notify Brown of their intention to matriculate.
Mid-May: If the Admission Office accepts any students off of the wait list, the first group of letters is usually mailed at this time.
June 15: All applicants remaining on the wait list should receive a final decision by this date.
Late June: The Admission Office will send a letter to BASC Interviewers indicating where accepted interviewees decided to matriculate, and any final decisions on wait listed interviewees.
Talk with your Area Chair about planning a Send-Off Party for accepted students heading to Brown in August.

Send-Off Parties for accepted students heading to Brown and current undergraduates home for the summer usually happen in late July or early August.
Late August: First-year Orientation begins!
