Meet the future of Brown through the Alumni Interviewing Program!

No matter where in the world you live, you can assist the Office of Alumni Relations by interviewing applicants, speaking to students at college fairs, hosting acceptance parties and helping to bring the Brown experience to high school students in your area.

How much time is involved?

Interviewers typically conduct at least 3 interviews per year with local applicants. There are ways to be involved all year round. If you are able to contribute more of your time – represent Brown at college fairs, organize an admitted student reception, or pursue a leadership position as an area chair. Area chairs coordinate all of the volunteer efforts for their local committee. (Learn more about Alumni Interviewing Program roles.)

What kind of training is offered?

The Alumni Interviewing Program offers online training tools including the Interviewer Handbook, training videos and more (log in required). Your area chair and regional director are excellent sources of advice, training and encouragement in your local area. If you still have questions, contact our office.

Whom can I interview?

If you are interested in interviewing specific groups of applicants (i.e., PLME, first-generation college students, low-income students, students of color), please sign up to be an interviewer and notify your area chair or contact our office.

You can also support these specific groups of applicants through involvement with Brown’s Affinity Groups. The Inman Page Black Alumni Council, the Brown University Latino Alumni Council and the Asian American Alumni Alliance have all formed in the last decade, under the umbrella of the Multicultural Alumni Committee (MAC). What if I would like an alumni interview?

Once you’ve applied, your name is automatically put on a list for interviewing. Early decision candidates may inquire about interview status beginning November 15. Regular decision candidates may inquire about interview status beginning February 1. For more information, contact our office.
