Travel and Arrival Information
To ease your travel back to Brown, the University has made available additional parking spaces on campus. You may leave your car in any of the University lots throughout the campus. The two lots with the most spaces available are: the Erickson Complex, corner of Hope and Lloyd streets, and the Power Street lot (both lower and upper levels) at the corner of Power and Thayer streets. (Refer to campus map for locations.)
Please remember to lock your car, whether it is on the street or in a lot. Even though hourly restrictions are waived for Reunion Weekend, do observe the city’s parking laws; any cars parked in a temporary tow zone, in violation of a fire hydrant, blocking driveways, or obstructing Brown Police or Providence Police sawhorses will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Please note: Parking is prohibited on George Street from Prospect Street to Brown Street, Brown Street from George Street to Benevolent
From the North or South: Take I-95 to Exit 22 and follow the ramp to Downtown/ Providence Place. Proceed straight on Memorial Boulevard through three sets of lights. At the fourth set of lights, take a left onto Waterman Street. Proceed straight through three sets of lights up Waterman Street to the Brown campus.
From the East: Take I-195 West to Exit 2, South Main Street. Proceed north on South Main Street to the first traffic light. Turn right onto College Street and proceed straight to Prospect Street where you will see the Van Wickle Gates.
From the Northwest: Take Route 146 South which merges with I-95 in Providence and follow the directions from North or South, above.
From the West on Route 6: Take Route 6 East to the Providence Downtown exit, which brings you to Memorial Boulevard, and follow the directions from North or South, above.
