Dear Brown Alumni, Your votes have been counted and the results are official. We’re very proud that nearly 8,000 of you voted in the 2009 Alumni Election! You have elected three new officers of the Brown Alumni Association (BAA): a president-elect, secretary, and treasurer. They will serve under the leadership of Joe Fernandez ’85, who is just completing his two-year term as President-Elect. Joe begins a concurrent six-year term as an Alumni Trustee when he assumes the BAA presidency on July 1.

You have also elected four new Alumni Trustees to serve on the Corporation, Brown’s highest governing body. Please join me in congratulating all of these alumni, and pledging to them our collective support to help strengthen Brown and its extended alumni community. Every candidate is a dedicated and distinguished alumna or alumnus who was willing to step forward to accept leadership responsibility. I am grateful for their past and future willingness to serve Brown. It has been my honor to serve as President over the past two years. It was a wonderful experience.
