One of Brown’s best-loved Reunion and Commencement traditions, the Campus Dance brings over 11,000 people to Brown to dance the night away under a sky lit with over 600 paper lanterns. The evening joins together graduating seniors and their families, alumni of all ages, and Brown faculty and staff. Everyone enjoys meeting old classmates, seeing favorite professors, and being with friends and family.
The Dance is a fun mix of people dressed in gowns and tuxedos and those dressed more casually in jeans or shorts. The evening ends with the Senior Sing—an informal and light-hearted rendition of Brown’s alma mater.
The College Green is transformed into an outdoor ballroom with a giant dance floor for swinging to the sounds of Duke Belaire and his Swing Orchestra, while the Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field) is for the young-at-heart, featuring two of Brown’s student bands. See photo gallery.

Ticket and Table Information
Tables of ten are located in the two sections of the Dance: the College Green and Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field). There are now more tables than ever (over 500 tables), but they do sell out and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to honor all location requests for tables. Tickets do not come with the purchase of a table. However, while you do not need a table to attend the Dance, you do need a ticket. Tickets not purchased in advance will go on sale beginning at 8:30 pm on May 27.
Tables for the 15th through 75th Reunion classes are located on the College Green in front of the Stephen Robert ’62 Campus Center (Faunce House). The 10th Reunion class is located around the flagpole on the College Green, while the 5th Reunion class will have tables reserved on Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field).

Locations and Tokens
There are five beverage locations on the College Green and Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field). This year, there will be two new bar locations at the Campus Dance: one between Hope College and Faunce House and a second behind Sayles Hall. Purchase beverage tokens inside Salomon Hall or behind Wilson Hall.
The Brown Alumni Association, sponsor of the Dance, provides professionally run bars serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Positive identification documenting legal age is required to purchase alcohol. Consistent with Brown’s practice at all University events, patrons are not permitted to bring beverage containers of any kind into the Dance. All patrons are urged to exercise moderation, and to ensure their own and others’ safety by not drinking and driving. Patrons engaging in disorderly conduct or in violation of the Beverage Policy will be removed from the Dance. Thank you for your patronage and cooperation.
To ensure the safety of our guests, there will be no backpacks, glass bottles, or beverages allowed into the Dance. We will be checking bags at the entrance, so please allow for additional time for entry into the dance.
Campus Dance is an outdoor event and will still be held even with the occurrence of rain. However, in the unlikely event of stormy or severe weather, the Dance will be cancelled and refunds will be issued. Refunds will not be issued for any other reason than a cancellation of the event. Please visit our website for refund instructions.
