Friday, May 24, 2013 [ 9 pm – 1 am ]

One of Brown’s best-loved Reunion and Commencement traditions, the Campus Dance brings over 11,000 people to Brown to dance the night away under a sky lit with over 600 paper lanterns. The evening joins together graduating seniors and their families, alumni of all ages, and Brown faculty and staff. Everyone enjoys meeting old classmates, seeing favorite professors, and being with friends and family.

The Dance is a fun mix of people dressed in gowns and tuxedos and those dressed more casually in jeans or shorts. The evening ends with the Senior Sing—an informal and light-hearted rendition of Brown’s alma mater.

The College Green is transformed into an outdoor ballroom with a giant dance floor for swinging to the sounds of Duke Belaire and his Swing Orchestra, while the Ruth J. Simmons Quadrangle (Lincoln Field) is for the young-at-heart, featuring two of Brown’s student bands. See Campus Dance photo gallery.
