Multicultural Alumni Committee (MAC)

MAC is a standing committee of the Brown Alumni Association (BAA) Board of Governors. MAC represents the voices of alumni of color, and serves as an advisory committee to the BAA Board.

MAC’s goal is to establish and mobilize an effective network of alumni of color to achieve MAC’s vision in the areas listed below:

Community Building

Continue to increase the number of involved and engaged alumni of color and build a committed community.

Marketing and Communications

Effectively communicate to alumni, faculty, students, and parents who MAC is and how MAC can support and mobilize the alumni of color community.

Multicultural Affinity Groups

Act as a resource to the multicultural affinity groups –
Asian/Asian American Alumni Alliance (A4),
Brown University Latino Alumni Council (BULAC),
and the Inman Page Black Alumni Council (IPC).

Policy

Establish MAC as a voice for alumni of color to the University and foster future leaders by communicating the life cycle of volunteer leadership.

Philanthropy

Increase participation from alumni of color through education about giving opportunities and encourage giving at any level.
