Welcome to the Brown Club of Philadelphia Web Site.

Dear Fellow Brown Alum,

Welcome to the Brown Club of Philadelphia’s new and first website.  In 2007, through the energy of our expanded executive committee, the Club was revitalized.  Building on the many years of good work done by our predecessors, we are hoping to engage many of the 2329 Brown alumnae and alumni in the Greater Philadelphia area.  This surprisingly large number does not even include our neighboring communities in New Jersey and Delaware.

The great team we have in place is looking for new ideas from our fellow alums of all generations, urban and suburban, and we welcome your input.

Our club has funded and continues to grow an endowed scholarship fund that helps support a Philadelphia area Brown undergraduate each year.   There are only a handful of such Brown Club endowed scholarships in the U.S.

The program for 2007  included visits from Brown faculty in uniquely Philadelphia venues, recent grad happy hours in Center City,  young family events, connection to the All Ivy group in Philadelphia, an ice skating event, formation of a local Inman Page chapter, and a visit by President Ruth Simmons for the Philly kick-off of the Boldly Brown campaign.

For 2008-2009 we have also planned a Father's Day outing to Winterthur in Delaware, a BASC freshman send-off event, a fall community service project, and a faculty visit focused on the November election.

We welcome your participation.  Our board meets every other month.  We’re open to  new members and new ideas for events and involvement of our local Brown community.

Please bookmark our site and check for event updates as details emerge.  Remember to keep your information current at Brown.alumni.edu.
