Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 7:30 PM: Night at the Theater - 26 Miles
New Play from Quiara Alegria Hudes, Brown alumna and Author of "In The Heights"
Location:
Round House Theatre Bethesda
4545 East-West Highway
Bethesda, MD 20814
240.644.1100
Metro - Round House Theatre Bethesda is located less than one block from the Bethesda station (Red Line)
Come join us for a night at the theater to see the area premiere of "26 Miles" - a new play by Quiara Alegria Hudes (half Puerto Rican, half Jewish), Brown alumna (MFA'04) and author of "In The Heights."
Play/Author Information
"The best souvenirs on the road of life don't fit in your pocket. Get on board for a world premiere by Pulitzer Prize finalist Quiara Alegría Hudes. An ’83 Buick Regal may be an unlikely place to find out what family really means, but when Beatriz and her estranged daughter head off into the night on a spontaneous road trip, neither mother nor daughter are prepared for what they’re in for. This funny and tender new play reminds us that the best souvenirs on the road of life are the relationships we make along the way – and that sometimes all it takes to find yourself is the power of family, Spanish in five words a day… and a herd of buffalo." This play is recommended for ages 15 and above and is in English.
For more information on the author, visit http://www.quiara.com/bio.htm
How to Find Us
We will meet in the lobby of the Round House Theater at 7pm. For those who are available, we can meet earlier at 6pm at the Daily Grill located across the street from the Round House Theater and then walk over.
Ticket Information
There is a special $10 ticket price for those ages 30 and under. In order to facilitate group seating, the Brown Club, has reserved 20 seats in row AA in the balcony.
