2007 La Jolla Relay for Life, UCSD.
My name's Cleo Salisbury (Class of 1997). I've
set up a team for the La Jolla Relay for Life at UCSD June 23rd-24th.
Teammembers take turns walking/running/whathaveyou around a track for 24
hours in efforts to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer
Society. The event only costs $10 to participate in (tax-deductable,
even) and for a great cause (the ACS has invested over $2.5B in cancer
research). Our team name is the San Diego Scientists, and we are hoping
to have a bbq, a few goofy science experiments, and many pinatas at our
campsite. I'd love to have a bunch of Brown Alums on the team (scientists
and non-scientists, both). Children are welcome as long as they have an
adult with them. I super-encourage any cancer survivors to join us --
it's free of charge for them and there are some gifts and a special
"Survivor Lap" in their honor.
