25 Mar 09: Spring Mixer with the Brown Jabberwocks

On the last night of their week-long trip in Hong Kong, Brown's acclaimed a cappella group the Jabberwocks dropped by Epoch to serenade Brown alum and cafe goers with their lively and dazzling singing. Brown alum enjoyed themselves as they drank and enjoyed snacks provided by generous Epoch owner (also a Brown alumnus) and chatted with each other and with Jabberwocks members about life at Brown. We all hope to see the Jabberwocks here in Hong Kong again!

9 Dec 07: BUAAHK Speaker Series - Ms. Harriette Hemassi , Head Librarian of Brown Libraries.

Harriette Hemmasi is the Joukowsky Family University Librarian at Brown, where she has oversight for the University’s library system and provides leadership in the delivery and integration of information resources and new technologies into the campus’ teaching, learning, and research environment.  During the lucheon, Harriette share her view on"The Role of the Library in the Digital Age".

5 Dec 07:  Horse Racing Dinner with BUAAHK Board

A dinner among the Board Members of BUAAHK was held during a horse racing night.  While covering official Board matters, the Board members also had an enjoyable fun night. 

15 Nov 07: BUAAHK Speaker Series - Ms. Elsie Leung, former Secretary Justice of Hong Kong.

Ms. Leung became the first Secretary of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR on July 1, 1997. She has a distinguished record of public service, having served on multiple government boards and committees. For her contribution to the Hong Kong community, she was award the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2002.   During the dinner, Ms Leung gave a talk on "The Implementation of One Country Two Systems in Hong Kong".

22 Sept 07: Dinner with Director of International Admissions - Panetha Ott

A delightful dinner buffet was hosted at epoch coffee bar and desserterie for Panetha Ott. Many alumuni came and met with Panetha and learned more insider knowledge about Brown's HK admissions.

23 June 07: Ivy Ball

Brown Made a Splash at Ivy Ball 2007.  Brown's participation in 2007 Ivy Ball was a huge success, with over 7 tables of Brown alumni and guests present.  A spirited contigent delivered a rousing rednition of "Ever True to Brown", and a fun time was had by all.

11 May 07: Dinner with Professor Meyers

A very successful dinner was hosted for Professor Meyer at the Hong Kong Club.  Many Alumni attended the event and was excited to hear about Professor Meyer's analysis of the Asian Economy particularly Hong Kong.

 

26 April 07: Brown Alumni First Mixer

The First Brown Alumni Mixer commenced on April 26, 2007 at epoch Coffee Bar & Desserterie.  The event was a blast with great attendance. Epoch, our favourite venue being run by our dear Brown alumnus, offered us a delicious spead of snacks, and special cocktails on Brown Shot Glasses. What a treat it was! Brown alums, old and young, stayed late into the night, munching, drinking, catching up and making new friends.

13 Jan 07: BBQ at Middle Island Over 30 alumni, friends and family enjoyed a relaxing Saturday barbeque lunch at the Hong Kong Yacht Club's picturesque facility in Middle Bay.  For more photos, click here

29 Dec 06:  Dinner with Professor Josef Mittleman

Evan Chow '04 hosted a reception and dinner event at the Hong Kong Country Club for the visiting professor and his family.  Around 20 alumni and students had the opportunity to speak with Prof. Mittleman, faculty member of the Engineering Department with a focus on management, entrepreneurship and real estate.

21 Oct 06:  Chancellor Emeritus Visits Hong Kong

Jay Leung '84 hosted an alumni luncheon at the Four Seasons for a delegation of Brown visitors:  Chancellor Emeritus Artemis Joukowsky, Mr. Michael Joukowsky, Vice President for International Advancement Dr. Ronald Margolin, and Professor Clyde Briant, Vice President for Research.  Over 30 alumni attended to learn about Brown University's dynamic expansion plans under President Ruth Simmons, and the ongoing Campaign for Academic Enrichment.
