August 8, 2010 - Class Of 2014 Send-off Party

The Class of 2014 Send-off party will be held on August 8, 2010. The gala event will be hosted by Andrea and Mark Aikins '81 and, as in the past, promises to be a most enjoyable afternoon.
When: Sunday August 8th - 5:30-7:30 PM

Come out and support the incoming freshmen and meet their parents. There are always several Brown alums in attendance, so join us on a summer afternoon and see old friends and meet new ones.
There is no charge for Brown Club members, Brown Students, parents of Brown Students, BASC interviewers. There is a $10 fee for non-Brown Club attendees. (You can join the Brown Club at the party)

From Route 35, Shrewsbury Area:
Proceed east on White Road (just south of ValleyNational Bank). At end of White Road, turn left onto Branch Ave. Proceed on Branch Ave. approximately one block and take a right onto Rumson Road. Follow Rumson Road easttoward Sea Bright. Immediately after Holy Cross School (on left) and prior to Sea Bright bridge approach, turn left onto Ward Ave. Follow Ward Ave. to end. Turnright onto Hartshorne Lane, then quick left onto North Ward Ave. #14 North Ward is on left immediately after Meadow Lane and is a tan shingled house with white trim. Please park on North Ward Avenue or north side only of Meadow Lane.

June 13, 2010 - Family Day at the Trenton Thunder

Bring the family to see the Yankees and the Mets. Granted, we are talking about the Class AA Yankees and Mets; however, it should be a great event.
When: June 13th @ 1:05 PM
Where: Trenton Thunder Ball Park in Trenton, NJ (info)
What: The Thunder take on the Birmingham Mets. We'll have our own seating area, food coupons and children can run the bases after the game. The ticket price is $8.00/person (both adults and children).

The Brown Club of Central NJ has arranged for a limited number of seats at the McCarter Theatre. Here are the salient details:

What: Take Flight..a musical that "melds fact and fiction to tell the (info)
interweaving stories of three pioneers of aeronautics: the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart". With style and panache, coupled with a stellar creative team, this lush musical delves to the core of the American experience.
Time: At 5:00 PM, we will enjoy a very delicious dinner at the home of Nikki and Steve Peters (' 78 & ' 76) at 53 Castle Howard Ct, Princeton, a very convenient distance to McCarter Theater. Curtain time for Take Flight is 8:00 PM.
Price: Brown Club members $45.00; Non-members $55.00

Return to the Brown classroom on February 21st. Everyone agrees that conflicts of interest are a problem in government. But there is little agreement about what constitutes a conflict of interest, what should be done about these conflicts and who should decide such questions. Ross Cheit, Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at Brown, will discuss these issues.
The program will be held on the Princeton University campus, in East Pyne Hall (map), from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. After a brief reception, there will be a lecture and discussion. A continuation of the reception will be held following the lecture. The cost is $10.00 for Brown Club of Central NJ members and $15.00 for non-members. The admission fee will be $20.00 if paid at the door.
