Cordially invites you to
Back to Class:
"Improving Public Schools: From Policy to Classroom and Beyond"
with
Professor Ken Wong: Walter and Leonore Annenberg Chair for Education Policy and Chair of the Education Department at Brown (about)
Sunday, November 13, 2011
2:00 - 5:00 pm
East Pyne Hall, Princeton University (map)
Princeton, NJ 08544
(add to calendar)
Join with fellow Brown alums as we return to the classroom for a stimulating discussion with one of the country’s preeminent scholars in the field of education. The drive to improve public education in the United States calls for increased accountability, tougher standards, and school restructuring. However, parents, teachers, school principals and policy makers may not share the same vision or priorities about what works. Managing this change process is a challenge that has been the focus of Professor Kenneth Wong’s research at Brown. Professor Wong directs the master’s program in Urban Education Policy and chairs the Education Department at Brown.
The program will be held on the Princeton University campus, in East Pyne Hall, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. (map) After a brief reception, there will be a lecture and discussion. A continuation of the reception will be held following the lecture. The cost is $10.00 for Brown Club of Central NJ members and $20.00 for non-members. The admission fee will be $20.00 if paid at the door.
Space is limited, so send your RSVP as soon as possible. Send your checks payable to Brown Club of Central NJ to David Epstein, 16 Wall Street, Princeton, NJ 08540
Questions? Contact David Epstein (TADNY2@aol.com) or Jennifer DeLucia Garofolo (JGarofol@its.jnj.com).
