30th Reunion-May 23-25th, 2008

Reunion is fast approaching! Here’s an update on the activities we have planned for our 30th (gulp!). There are of course many other activities going on on campus; these are just the ones that specifically relate to our class.

Friday, May 23rd

Registration under the tent on Wriston Quadrangle (across the street from Maddock, through Wayland Arch) |
| 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm |
Welcome reception at our class headquarters in Alpha Chi Omega Lounge (Sears House) in Wriston Quad. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available for enjoyment as we meet and greet old friends. The reception is complimentary. |

Class Dinner under a tent on Pembroke Field. Celebrate your return to Rhode Island with a New England style clambake featuring chowder, mussels, lobster, barbequed chicken and more. Complimentary beer and wine. Cost: $60 .

Campus Dance. Dance under the stars and hundreds of paper lanterns. On College Green, swing to the sounds of the Duke Belaire Orchestra, or on Lincoln Field, groove to two of Brown’s student bands. Our class with have 3 tables conveniently located in front of Faunce House, near the cash bar: $25. |

All-Class Memorial Service. Join classmates and fellow alumni in Sayles Hall for this meaningful ceremony, a time to reflect on and celebrate the lives of classmates who have passed away since our last reunion. |
| 9:30 am |
Hour with the President. Come and hear Ruth Simmons discuss the Program for Academic Enrichment and her vision for Brown. Lincoln Field. |
| 12:00 noon – 3:00 pm |
Alumni Field Day at Erickson Field. Catch up with friends at our class tent at what promises to be a great Field Day! Join the kids for a game of Frisbee, with your complimentary official Field Day Frisbee. Or, encourage your children to participate in mini soccer or rugby clinics led by members of the Brown teams. Be sure to catch the amazing lineup of entertainment for kids of all ages in the “Bruno Activity Zone.” And after lunch, cheer on friends and classmates at alumni rugby and softball games
Bring a picnic or enjoy a barbeque of hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and the fixings. And be sure to grab a free ice cream as you enjoy the family activities. There will be an assortment of beverages available at the Field Day cash bar.
Field Day activities are free, although there is a charge of $35/ family or $20/pp for the barbeque. The Field Day is held rain or shine. |

Class dinner in a grand tent on the Front Green (in front of Manning Hall). This festive evening begins with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by succulent buffet of Provencal chicken, peppered Atlantic salmon and vegetables and topped off with coffee and a delectable assortment of desserts. $65 adults, $30 children. |

Waterfire. After our class dinner, head down by the river to the Brown Alumni Tent to witness this award-wining multimedia fire installation created by artist Barnaby Evans ’75. Visit the many activities offered during Waterfire, including the Brown ballroom dancers featuring instruction, dance performances and dancing for everyone |

Pre-Commencement March breakfast at the Ratty for all alumni and their guests. See if their hot breakfast buffet is all that you remember, and get energized for the march. $10/adults, $5 children. |

Commencement Procession. The pageant, pomp and circumstance of Brown’s march down College Hill. Don’t miss the opportunity to march with our classmates behind the 30th Reunion banner. For many, this is the highlight of the reunion! The procession forms at University Hall and continues onto George St. Look for the 30th Reunion signs |

Grab and Go lunch. After your return up the hill, grab lunch on Wriston Quad. You can enjoy it at our class headquarters, or if weather permits, have a picnic on the green. $9.50. |
Registration
You can register for these events online, at http://alumni.brown.edu or by mail using the form you should have received last month. Register by May 5th to avoid a late registration fee of $25, imposed on registrations between May 6th and May 16th. After May 16th, all registrations will be processed at Reunion Registration upon arrival on campus. Tickets for some events may not be available at that time.

Act now if you'd like hotel reservations, as rooms go quickly. Check out the list of hotel options.
On-Campus Housing
Residence hall accommodations will be available on campus. Prices for 2008 have not yet been finalized, but the 2007 prices were $45 per person, per night with a two-night minimum.
All rooms are cleaned and furnished with bed linens (blanket, sheets, pillow case, and pillow), towels, face cloth, soap and plastic water glasses. Items you should bring to make your campus living more comfortable include: an alarm clock, extra hangers, mirror, extra towels, blankets, fan, etc.
