Dear Fellow Brown Alumni,
I am honored to have been elected Brown Alumni Association President, and tremendously pleased with the group of alumni elected to serve as my fellow BAA officers. Since our strategic planning retreat last month, we are off to a fast start working to ensure that alumni are actively engaged in the life of our University. We have built on the efforts of previous BAA leaders to set ambitious priorities for the next two years, including:
- Increasing participation in Brown Club events by supporting Club leaders and outstanding programming;
- Continuing to improve web-based communications tools used by alumni;
- Partnering with the University for an outstanding celebration of Brown’s 250th Anniversary beginning in March of 2014!
I look forward to partnering with the outstanding alumni leaders of the BAA Board and the talented staff in Alumni Relations to help broaden Brown’s alumni engagement over the next two years. And what exciting years these will be! President Paxson’s strategic planning initiative will shape the direction and scope of our work together for years to come, and Brown’s 250th Anniversary will bring us together on-campus and around the world in celebration of all that is uniquely Brown. This is definitely a dynamic time to be a member of the Brown community, and there are so many ways for you to connect with the University.
In honor of Brown’s 250th Anniversary, I encourage you to participate in your local Brown Club, reach out to classmates, attend Brown events in Providence and around the world, and to take full advantage of our vibrant Brown community. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please be in touch with me or the BAA Office (see sidebar).
